Your spend 1/3 of your life sleeping...so if you are not adopting good sleeping habits, you can wake up with pain.

Here are some tips to use while you are sleeping to make sure you wake up pain-free!

Tip #1: Don't Sleep On Your Stomach--Sleep On Your Side Or Back
Sleeping on your stomach makes it hard to maintain the proper curves in your spine.Your low back will be hyperextended and your neck will be twisted to one side for hours at a time. This can eventually cause severe back and neck pain.

However, sleeping on your back or side maintains the proper curves of your spine.

Tip #2: Use A Good Pillow--But Not Just For Your Head
A pillow is not just something soft to lay your head on, but it can also be used as a tool to wake up pain-free all over your body.

First, make sure to have a good pillow that supports your neck. This will prevent neck strain, which can lead to pain.

When sleeping on your back, place a pillow under your knees to take pressure off the low back.

When sleeping on your side, place a pillow between your knees to take pressure off the hips.

Tip #3: Do Not Sleep On The Couch!
Many people fall asleep on the couch, but this is one of the worst places you can sleep.

Laying on the arm of the couch causes your neck to lay at an extreme angle. Laying at this extreme angle all night can cause misalignment and muscle tightness.

You might not be able to move your neck in the morning because of the pain and tightness! So don't sleep on the couch!

Follow these tips when sleeping and you will wake up feeling better and with less pain!
