The knee is truly an amazing joint. If you reach your recommended 10,000 steps for the day, each of your knees has flexed (bent) and extended (straightened) 5,000 times. You use them every time you climb a ladder or kneel down to pray. They are also a great place to put a child or grandchild.

We expect an awful lot of our knees, and they usually come through strong and pain-free. However, with all of the use and abuse we give our knees, sometimes, eventually, they start to wear out. The cartilage wears out, the ligaments get stretched and suddenly each of those 10,000 steps hurts. If you reach this point (and we hope you don't), you may be a good candidate for chiropractic help for your knee pain.

When you come in as a new patient, the first thing we will do is listen. We'll ask you questions about your health in general, your spirit and any specific joint pain you have. We'll carefully listen to your answers and probably have more questions. Through this process, you and your provider will come up with a treatment plan to resolve your pain and get you walking, and dancing, pain-free again.

While every patient, and every knee, is different, some of the treatment modalities that might be included are rest, ice, support and specific chiropractic manipulation to increase motion and function, while decreasing pain.
