As summer turns into fall you might find yourself hurting in new places. Perhaps you tried tennis in June and took up 5-K in July. Maybe you decided at the age of 53 it would be a great idea to play in a volley ball tournament.
For most folks, physical activity is heightened during the summer months. Whether we attribute it to yard work, the desire to get back in shape or the urge to enjoy the sun we tend to move more and sit less.
The more we move, especially in the sports arena, the greater the risk of injury to the extremities.
Chiropractic care is whole body care. That means while much of what we do centers on the spine and neck, we are also concerned about elbows, knees, ankles, and wrists.
When any joint becomes misaligned the result is pain and inflammation. Many times a patient will experience weakness or even immobility.
All joints have the potential for misalignment. The most common subluxations in the extremities we see are found in shoulders, wrists, hands, knees, hips, and ankles. We also treat misalignment in the jaw, more commonly known as TMJ.
The systems in the human body work together in such a way that a misalignment in a knee can lead to issues with the spine and neck that lead to pain and a decreased quality of living.
