Here at Lexington Family Chiropractic, we want to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make the healthcare decisions that make sense to you. Let's spend a few minutes talking about the relationship between chiropractic and your kidneys.
While we normally think about chiropractic treating the aches and pains of our neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems, did you know that pinched, bruised, crowded nerves exiting the spine can have an impact on much more than just your ability to move pain free. It can have an impact on your kidneys, as well.
The human body is an amazing machine. Like most complex, multifunctional machines, if one part doesn't run smoothly, it can drag the whole machine down. The kidneys depend on a good electrical supply from the nervous system to regulate blood flow to the kidneys, which increases or decreases urine production and output. The nerve supply for the kidneys arises from parts of spinal nerves T10 through L2. If there are alignment problems in the low thoracic or upper lumbar regions, it can have an impact on the function of the kidneys.
While gentle, chiropractic manipulation is often aimed at an acute, painful problem, the benefits tend to be much greater than just treating the initial problem. Just as you can take your car to the mechanic before it breaks for preventative maintenance or after it breaks, for much more expensive repairs, please consider coming in to see Dr. Gallantine and the whole crew here at Lexington Family Chiropractic for a tune-up. Through chiropractic and other conservative treatment modalities we will help your body run like a well-tuned machine.
If you have been having problems with your kidneys or other general health issues, please contact us or give us a call at 859-264-1140. We'd love to tell you more about how chiropractic can help.
Remember, you don't have to live with the pain!
